The brickwork of Baysgarth House has stood proudly for centuries, but time and weather have taken their toll on the mortar that binds it together. As we move into Phase II of the restoration, attention turns to the extensive north and west elevations of the main house.
Repointing is one of the most important conservation tasks in any historic building. Using traditional lime mortar, skilled craftspeople will carefully remove failing joints and replace them with breathable materials that protect the brickwork and help preserve the building for future generations.
This is a significant undertaking, involving thousands of individual bricks across large sections of the house. To help fund this work, you can sponsor a brick for just £5.
While a single brick may seem small, every sponsorship contributes to safeguarding the fabric of this Grade II* listed building and bringing us one step closer to securing its future.
From £10, £20 and £50. Our gift vouchers are redeemable against everything in the Ropewalk shop as well our workshops and our live performances at the Ropery Hall!
